Participants will be provided with a fantastic workshop package with all the necessary materials to conduct the workshop. The exercises will be conducted through direct experimentation with the materials, and will include techniques such as carving, moulding, and casting. The course will be taught across a series of short exercises combining theory and practice, through which participants are challenged to solve a given brief by means of collaborative making. Both beginners with little experience and those with professional ambitions are welcome to participate. The workshop will take place in the fantastic Grow Hackney venue at the heart of Hackney Wick.ĭrawing from this year theme ‘In Common’, participants will be encouraged to explore collaborative making pedagogies, and to deploy alternative urban strategies for the area through model making and colour.
